About Daikin mini-splits
Strong presence in northern Vermont, particularly the Aurora and Quaternity lines. Daikin's refrigerant detection sensors are an industry first but trigger occasional false alarms.
Common Daikin issues we see in Vermont
- · Refrigerant detection sensor false positives
- · Drain pan sensor failure triggering shut-off
- · Communication errors in multi-zone configurations
Our Daikin cleaning approach
Daikin units take additional care around the refrigerant sensor wiring. We avoid water and cleaner near the sensor electronics.

Daikin FAQs
Will cleaning trigger my Daikin refrigerant detection sensor?
It can if we are not careful, which is why we treat Daikin units differently. We keep water and cleaner away from the sensor electronics and disconnect power before any work near the sensor housing. False sensor triggers from cleaning are avoidable with the right procedure.
Why does my Daikin Aurora unit shut off intermittently in summer?
Intermittent summer shutoffs on Aurora units usually trace to a clogged drain pan tripping the float sensor. Vermont summer humidity loads the drain pan fast in unmaintained units. Cleaning the pan and clearing the line typically resolves it.
Do you service Daikin Quaternity systems with the four-way control?
Yes. Quaternity indoor units clean the same as the rest of the Daikin line; the four-way conditioning logic is in the firmware and is not affected by cleaning. We document the system mode before and after the visit so nothing drifts.
