Our Mr. Cool cleaning approach

Mr. Cool deep cleaning follows the same procedure as any mini-split. We check the field-installed line connections during the visit since these are a known weak point.

Mr. Cool FAQs

Can you clean a DIY-installed Mr. Cool mini-split?

Yes. DIY installation does not affect cleaning. We follow the same procedure as any mini-split: pull the blower wheel, deep clean the coil and drain pan, rinse the outdoor unit, and verify drainage out the condensate line.

Do you check the field-installed Mr. Cool line set connections during a cleaning?

Yes. Mr. Cool uses field-installable quick-couplers on the refrigerant lines, and these are the most common point of slow leaks in DIY installs. We inspect for oil residue at the couplers during the visit and flag any suspect connections.

Why does my Mr. Cool filter clog so much faster than my friend's Mitsubishi?

Mr. Cool filters are a finer mesh on most models. They catch more, which is good for indoor air, but it also means they load up faster. We recommend rinsing the filter every 4-6 weeks during heavy use rather than the every-3-months cadence printed in the manual.
