Vermont Heat Pump Cleaning

Efficiency Vermont Heat Pump Program (2026 Guide)

May 10, 2026

Efficiency Vermont's 2026 heat pump rebate program offers $475 per ductless head and up to $2,200 for whole-home ducted systems, available statewide through participating contractors. This guide explains the program structure, who qualifies, and where annual maintenance fits in. We are not affiliated with EVT; we are a cleaning company that works alongside many EVT installers.

The current EVT rebate (2026)

Configuration Rebate
Cold-climate ductless mini-split (per head) $475
Whole-home ducted cold-climate heat pump Up to $2,200
Heat pump water heater $300-$600
Tier 2 efficiency bonus Variable

Verify current numbers on the Efficiency Vermont website before installation.

Who qualifies

Most Vermont households served by participating utilities. Income-eligible programs offer additional bonuses through GMP and other utilities. The income threshold and bonus amounts are on each utility's site.

How the rebate flows

  • You choose a participating installer
  • The installer submits the rebate paperwork
  • The rebate is typically applied as an instant discount at point of sale
  • No homeowner paperwork required in most cases

What is not in the rebate

  • Annual cleaning. Rebate covers installation only.
  • Repairs to an existing system.
  • Maintenance plans.
  • Retroactive coverage for systems installed before participation.

If you bought a system in 2019 and never received a rebate, you cannot claim one now.

Where we fit in

After an EVT-rebated installation, the system is yours to maintain. The manufacturer warranty (typically 5 years compressor, 10 years parts) requires documented annual maintenance to remain valid. We provide that documentation.

If you got your system 3-5 years ago through EVT, you are exactly in the window where first deep cleaning becomes critical. The system is past warranty grace and well into biofilm establishment territory.

What we cannot do

  • Help you apply for the rebate (it is tied to installation only)
  • Speed up EVT processing (we have no relationship there)
  • Add a rebate to an existing system

What we can do

  • Clean your EVT-rebated system annually for $199 first head, $149 each additional
  • Provide written documentation that satisfies warranty requirements
  • Help you understand whether a symptom requires a cleaning vs a diagnostic visit
